Groundbreaking of Our New Garden!

Aloha all. It's been a long time since the last post, and I apologize for not keeping you updated. Today was the groundbreaking of our new garden! For those of you who don't know, the garden is located behind the Speech and Debate room near the Hawaiian 6 class lo‘i. A shout out to Mr. Hutch, Mama Fuj, Mrs. Ho, Ms. Tully, Mrs. Forster, Kahu Kordell and the two uncles from Physical Plant who helped us make this a reality.
We dug up and tilled the soil (very fertile and full of clay, red dirt, and earthworms), formed two large mounds, and replanted the ‘uala and beans growing in our makeshift hydroponics garden near the "social studies" corridor of Konia. For now, it's just the sweet potatoes and beans, but we are planning to transplant the basil, lettuce, and tomatoes next week. Please feel free to join us!
